The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-March 2026, the number of visitors (tourists and excursionists), participants in tourism organized by travel agencies and tour operators totalled 65.9 thousand people (an increase of 11.4% compared to January-March 2025), of which:

• outbound tourism(visits by residents of the country outside its borders)- 35.7 thousand people (+5.0%);
• inbound tourism(visits to the Republic of Moldova by non-resident visitors)- 12.4 thousand people (-1.5%);
• domestic tourism(visits within the country by resident visitors)- 17.8 thousand people (+41.5%).

During the analysed period, outbound tourism accounted for the largest share - 54.1% of total tourism activities, while inbound and domestic tourism accounted for 18.9% and 27.0%, respectively.

In January-March 2026, the revenues of travel agencies and tour operators amounted to 495.0 million MDL, up 17.5% compared to January-March 2025. Revenues from outbound tourism totalled 444.9 million MDL (+17.6%), domestic tourism 37.9 million MDL (+15.4%) and inbound tourism 12.2 million MDL (+21.5%).
